Patna: Students in Bihar will now be able to seek academic assistance from teachers around the clock through the state government’s ‘Bihar Vidya Saathi’ digital learning initiative.
The platform has been launched to provide accessible learning support to students, particularly those who may not be able to afford private tuition or coaching. Through the app, students can connect with live tutors and get their doubts cleared in real time.
The initiative is being implemented initially for students studying in 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools across Bihar. According to the state government, around three lakh students are expected to benefit from the programme.
One of the key features of the platform is its 24×7 live teacher support. Students can seek help whenever they face difficulty understanding a topic, including during late-night study hours when regular classroom assistance may not be available.
The programme reportedly brings around 75,000 teachers onto the platform to provide live academic assistance. Students can interact with teachers directly and seek explanations for difficult concepts.
The initiative also aims to support students preparing for board examinations as well as competitive examinations. Students of Classes 9 and 10 can receive assistance across subjects, while students in Classes 11 and 12, particularly those in the science stream, can access additional academic support.
Preparation assistance for competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET is also among the features being offered through the digital platform.
The government says the initiative is aimed at reducing disparities in access to quality education and ensuring that students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds can receive academic guidance without having to depend entirely on expensive private tuition or coaching centres.
With teachers available online throughout the day, the programme is expected to provide students with greater flexibility to study according to their own schedules and seek assistance whenever required.
