The makers of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend have released a new behind-the-scenes (BTS) video offering a glimpse into the scale and vision of the highly anticipated mythological epic. The footage features Sai Pallavi in a striking warrior avatar as Sita, along with new glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has been attracting attention through its promotional videos and behind-the-scenes content. The latest video features the director, Ranbir Kapoor and producer Namit Malhotra discussing the ambitious project and its global scale.
Sai Pallavi’s Warrior Avatar as Sita Steals the Spotlight
One of the highlights of the new BTS footage is Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Sita in a warrior-like avatar, seen fighting demons. The sequence offers a different glimpse of the character and has caught viewers’ attention.
The video also features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, standing atop a mountain as the sun rises. In another striking sequence, Yash appears as Ravana performing the tandav in front of a massive statue of Lord Shiva.
The makers recently released the film’s second English trailer online in six languages. The new BTS video followed a day later, giving audiences a closer look at the people and creative vision behind the epic.
Sharing the video, the makers described Ramayana: Rise of a Legend as a “life-sized epic” and featured a conversation between Namit Malhotra, Nitesh Tiwari and Ranbir Kapoor about bringing the story to the big screen.
Over 10,000 People Working on the Film Worldwide
Producer Namit Malhotra offered an insight into the scale of the production, revealing that more than 10,000 people worldwide are working on the film.
Describing the project, Malhotra said Ramayana combines depth of character, emotion and spectacle, adding that it has something for every audience.
Director Nitesh Tiwari said the story has the potential to connect with people across the world. He highlighted its father-son relationship, underdog narrative and brave love story.
Malhotra also reflected on the origins of the project, saying that the opportunity to make Ramayana was one they felt compelled to pursue. He described it as a film that did not simply get made but seemed to happen.
Ranbir Kapoor praised the production scale and the team assembled for the project. He said the opportunity to work with such a cast and crew on a production of this magnitude was rare in the film industry.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
Planned as a two-part epic, the film is scheduled for release on November 5, coinciding with Diwali. Sony Pictures will handle worldwide distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions will oversee distribution in the Hindi-speaking market.
