PSC Turned Into CPM’s Recruitment Agency, Says V. Muraleedharan; Calls for Review of LDF-Era Appointments

New Delhi: BJP MLA V. Muraleedharan has backed the Governor’s recommendation to remove the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman, stating that the Chief Minister should have taken action against him instead of leaving the matter to the Governor.

Speaking to the media in Delhi, Muraleedharan alleged that the PSC had been turned into a “recruitment agency of the CPM.” He claimed that irregularities in appointments were not limited to the Chief Planning Board examination and called for a comprehensive review of all appointments made during the tenure of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government.

Muraleedharan also accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) government of attempting to protect Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM leaders. He said the court had taken note of the fact that even the key accused in the case had not been questioned.

The BJP MLA further alleged that those who came to power by turning the CPM’s corruption allegations into an electoral issue were now helping conceal the same alleged corruption.

Questioning the UDF government’s commitment to young people in Kerala, Muraleedharan asked whether a government that had been in power for four months had no responsibility towards the state’s youth.

His remarks come amid controversy over PSC appointments and demands for accountability over alleged irregularities during the previous LDF government.
