Hyderabad: A four-year-old girl died after she became trapped inside a locked car while playing near her home in Vinobanagar village of Julurupadu mandal in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The deceased was identified as Tanvi Sri, the elder daughter of village sarpanch Gangavath Naveen. According to police, the child entered the car while playing outside the house on Sunday morning. The doors reportedly locked after she got inside, leaving her unable to get out.
The family realised that Tanvi was missing and began searching the area. After nearly two hours, they checked the car and found the child unconscious between the front seats. Family members broke one of the car windows and pulled her out before rushing her to the government hospital in Kothagudem. Doctors examined the child and declared her brought dead.
Police suspect that Tanvi died of suffocation after being trapped inside the locked vehicle. The family reportedly expressed no suspicion regarding the circumstances of her death, and no case was registered, according to police. The incident has left the family devastated, as the child had been playing and interacting with her parents earlier that morning before the tragedy occurred.
