Hassan: A 23-year-old woman from Bengaluru died under mysterious circumstances at a lodge in Karnataka’s Hassan district after reportedly eating a chocolate and suddenly collapsing.

The woman, identified as Varsha, had travelled to Sakleshpur on September 11 with her cousin and a friend. The three were staying at a lodge in the area when the incident occurred.

According to the Hassan Superintendent of Police, Varsha ate a chocolate before going to the bathroom to take a bath. She reportedly collapsed while walking towards the bathroom and died.

No external injuries found

Police said there were no visible external injuries on Varsha’s body. The two people who accompanied her on the trip have been questioned as part of the probe. Varsha’s parents were reportedly aware that she had travelled to Hassan. Sakleshpur is around 190 km from Bengaluru.

Chocolate link yet to be established

Police have not established whether the chocolate had any connection with Varsha’s death. The exact cause remains unknown.

A case of unnatural death has been registered, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The report is expected to determine the cause of death and help establish what led to her sudden collapse. Police said further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings.
